fallen

reclining figure has become a reoccurring element in my work.
a good sample from recent work would be: "after this" (there are a dozen or so others in past few years).
postures like this reflects the state of vulnerability and despair in our times, for example: Henry Moore's masterpieces "Falling Warrior"

initially I had other ideas for the title of this image; some thing to do with next generation,
their issues, pains and ... being lost
then i decided to make my own life easy!!

so like everything else I figured illustrate the damned feeling!

these days western medicine and how my local hospitals work /operate scare me big time. add to it dealing with the health-insurance and pharmaceutical co and and you get me running away so fast...

a muse on the road

in past few years I have had the privilege of  working with models who travel all year around. They live like  nomads who work and inspire artists nationwide and even internationally  . Occasionally one would stay in my studio while working Southern California and enhancing my life even more ...
as far as I know this is a very new life style (archetype) and only possible by advancement of communication and new social networks.

Katlyn’s video here is best sample of this new breed of muses
(video is by Bastard Artist and Katlyn Lacoste)
and a blog representing a few others: The Traveling Models

I am ever so grateful for each of them :)

“Censorship” Miss America Series

well facebook has deleted some more of my images and this time some of my best work.
It deeply saddens me that in 21 century and a social network group finds my social commentary work offensive.

(this works or on my page where by default are set for adults 18 and over)
model is Penelope Grace

melt down

we used to have such a fear of a nuclear war.
I remember over one million people rallying to Central Park NYC
I remember shadows painted on side walks.

as long as I remember there was some kind of fear planted in my heart. if it was not nuclear war, it was chemical war fair, terrorist attack or perhaps overheat of atmosphere.

I am still crunching to see what happens when Y2K hit us
"melt down"  is part of the book  "Obscene Seduction" an acknowledgment of all these darkness...

see my  last posting as well

Chris St James

once in a blue moon I have privilege of getting to know a being like Chris.
with his selfless giving,  the love that is his expression of life and the support he has been for other artist without making any judgment
it becomes evidence to me: there are other ways to attain Budahood beside a monastic life.
I salute you dear Chris

Women’s Crusade

a recent article in NYTIMES on the atrocities inflected on women around the world reminded me of a subject mater I am much interested addressing.

here are two earlier work with relating subjects:

"Domestic Violence" model : Nora

and

"In Whiteboy’s Town"

I’ve also been working on a new project based on sex slavery which I think will be shown only in print format.

meanwhile I am still learning how to workout this  blog thing, any input is much appreciated
